Parking ticket worth challenging?
Discussion
I suspect I’ll just pay the £35 and be done with, but thought I’d ask the question anyway. Got a parking ticket today while out with my daughter. We parked on double yellows as all the disabled bays (and all other bays for that matter) were taken in Exeter City centre. My daughter has a blue badge and it was visible on the dash. The car wasn’t causing an obstruction - directly in front of where we parked were ‘normal’ road side spaces then along from that were disabled spaces.
Anyway, we got back to the car literally seconds after the warden had ticketed my car. I asked him why and he said it was for parking in a restricted zone. I asked where it said it was restricted to which he pointed to a sign saying no loading at any time. I asked why that meant a disabled badge holder couldn’t park there and he replied that it was an area that had to be kept empty and that a disabled badge didn’t apply in that area.
As I wasn’t interested in a confrontation in the street I didn’t pursue it further and left it at that, but part of me is wondering whether I should challenge the ticket or just suck it up and move on.

The warden was correct.

You may park on single or double yellow lines for up to three hours if it is safe to do so but not within 15 metres of a junction or where there are restrictions on loading or unloading – indicated by yellow kerb dashes and/or signs on plates.

He wasn't parked in Northern Ireland. Are the restrictions identical in Exeter? Worth checking Devon council website for their restrictions for Blue Badges https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/articles/rights-and-re...

You may also be exempt from limits on parking times (check local signs for information) and can park for up to three hours on yellow lines; except where there is a ban on loading or unloading or other restrictions, as shown by a single or double yellow bar marked on the edge of the pavement.
