Any legal types - help required for letter I am writing for the chavs - next - door.
Can anyone give me any information on the noise abatement or noise pollution acts that I can quote in the letter? cant find any information for the specific acts on the teignbridge district council website.
Any relevent acts to do with noise pollution / loud swearing / gross or indecent acts would be ideal

Not really my field but from notes:
Principle Act regarding noise from premises is
contained in
The Noise Act 1996 Sect 2

also under
Environmental Protection Act 1990 Sect 79
- noise emitted from premises so as to be prejudicial to health or a nuisance can be classed as a 'statutory nuisance' which if reported LA have to investigate.
If problem confirmed LA can served abatement notice which if flouted offence - FNP or Court.
Whilst a breach of the peace can be committed in doors doutful this can be used and other legislation under Public Order etc requires this to be committed in a street/public place.
If particularly bad and beyond a domestic dispute then they might invoke S 1 Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and apply for an Anti Social Behaviour Order - person has acted in a manner that has caused, or likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to one or more persons not in the same household and the order is necessary to protect relevant person from further anti social acts.
Regarding obscenity - is a todger being flashed with intent to insult a female?? or just swearing that can be heard in the street? Variuous acts to cover such conduct.
Used to be swearing was an offence, 5 bob fine for a common man less for a soldier IIRC but now no longer with the advent of current cool language, authors and TV plays etc.
These things on noise are mainly now in the realms of LA. Was going to say contact them but your in conflict with them by the sounds of it.
Try having a word with Citizens Advice Bureau they may have some bumph on the matter.
