Just seeing a scamera sends me into a bad mood, but anyway – saw this one today, in Braintree (Essex). It appears to be parked on someones front lawn, are they allowed to operate parked like this?

(I guess they are but I would love it if they wernt…)

Would you think it gets people travelling TOWARDS or AWAY from the back?

Doesn't look like a lawn - more like one of those extended verges that don't belong to the houses behind.

Even so, its hardly legal parking I would think.

Footpath nearby.

If I saw that I'd be keen to stand in the way of the "laser" and exercise my right to stand on my paid for pavement and wave ecstatically at passing motorists as it's such a lovely day

Wonder if the policeman inside (don't make me laugh) uses that equipment as a secondary check to see how fast vehicles are going about which he has already formed an impression are going over the limit

I think I'd be concerned that my house wasn't attracting enough interest from buyers, and move the "For Sale" board to a more conspicuous position closer to the road

If it was my lawn I'd be tempted to clamp it or box it in with a couple of cars. Evil bar stewards.

What a sad way for someone to earn a living. To think they actually chose it and / or couldn't find anything else to do.

Couple of stink bombs through the back window whilst someone films them abandoning ship with a camcorder

Maybe the 'for sale' sign is linked to the two cars and the van

If it was mine I'd do a bit of stubble burning

My lawn would suddenly find itself covered in bits of glass... shame that!

As mentioned it looks like council property and is presumably parked with their permission (unlike the cars behind!)

The van would have used the drop kerb to access the grassed area so it wouldn't have broken the law.
