ok ive been thinking...in this country there are approx 60 million people no idea on exact figures but say half of those drive so 30 million on the road compared to ...i dunno 600 memebers of parliment, after all we elect them and technically (although it doesnt feel like it) we employ them to run the country, so we are their boss. so why dont we all get together in this country and say NO were not happy with this that and that so were not budging till you fix it,i feel the same way about council tax, everyone is fed up with it yet just accepts it and pays, what if every householder in the uk said NO its a joke were not paying it are say..30 million householders going to be taken through the courts? the same with morgages if the bank raises the interest rate everyones payment goes up say..20 quid thats alot when ur a 1st time buyer so every one say 'if it goes up were all cancelling our direct debits' they going to reposeses everyones house? there is a point to this post the same idea towards speed cameras and vans if we all STICK TOGETHER we can win this we kinda employ the government and our employees arent doing a good job so what do? either sack them or verbal/written warning im only young and not sure how to start it off but we need some kind of a leader we could all live happier lives not just drive without bein paranoid better interest rates etc...i remember reading somewhere that if EVERYONE went to court to fight a ticket the courts would clog up and couldnt cope but they rely on us to just panic and cave in i still find it amazing to think they can send a letter to you saying they intend to prosecute you tell you to fill it in and sign it basically ur guilty so just send ur licence and a cheque without giving the reciepient a photo, any calibration stuff nothing only their word for it,i remember a post on here LEGAL BLACKMAIL if we dig around im sure theres a law against it fingers crossed on the ECHR desision... id love to hear some views on my ideas you think im on to something or just watched too many films?

whilst i sympathise and agree with your sentiment wrt speeding, you ruin your arguement by extending it to mortgages. interest rates are simply the cost of money, if you cant afford a house dont buy it, that includes budgeting for higher rates. the system you describe is anarchy; not conviced it would work for long.

besides mortgage companies love reposessions in a bull market, they make a fortune cos on average the house is worth far more at auction than is owed and the rest of us non anarchists get to pick up another nice cheap house to rent out.

oh yeah and as for sacking the government. we just tried. unfortunately the scots and welsh voted them back in. absolve the union... only way forward

Of course if everyone refused to pay they would have to revise the system but alot of people actually like them. A few bad accidents in an area and a speed camera erected to rectify the problem and everyones appy.
