Parking ticket in ROI, vehicle registered in NI

A van registered in Northern Ireland UK was issued a parking ticket when it was parked in a loading bay in the Republic of Ireland. The driver got delayed at a pickup location so was over the 30 minute time limit.The ticket was appealed but the appeal has been disallowed.

Does anyone know what would happen if the fine is just ignored?

You need to know what the legal position is in the ROI.

Frequently the "owner" of a vehicle is responsible for such tickets, in the UK this would be the registered keeper.

If this is the case in the ROI, and the ticket isn't paid - what enforcement action is taken?

Could disappear, could be big expensive problem.

Update: the online fine payment system would not work and it turns out that the '1' in the registration has been inputted as an 'I'.
Does that invalidate the ticket?

Maybe but haven't you already been through an appeals process where you were identified and admitted to be the driver/keeper and that the vehicle was there?
