How to remove car from private parking bay?
Discussion
There is a car parked in my private bay. It's been there for several months.
I've checked online and it is taxed and MOT'd.
My local Council won't do anything about it because it is parked on my private parking space.
I've filled in a V888 form and sent it off to the DVLA to request the owner's address details and I intend to pop round his house and ask him to move it.
Does anyone have experience with unwanted cars on your property? If so, how did you resolve it?
Thanks for any help.

Many years ago. lived in small block of flats and saw youths clearly about to leave a car in our private car park. I'm not a 'large director' or whatever the phrase is on her, but I told them in no uncertain terms that if they left it I'd drag it around the corner (to the road) and leave it there. Spotty youth said "i'll tell the police - I've seen you face" which was quite amusing, and his mates (who were towing it) took it somewhere else.
I suggest you just cut the handbrake cable and tow it a few hundred yards - only problem is you've identified yourself by asking for the owner's address

Problem is they don't work that well on asphalt roads. If the vehicle isn't abandoned or in a dangerous condition, you will need to seek legal guidance from a solicitor or the Citizens Advice Bureau via the link below. The options here would be to either get a court order from a civil court for the removal of the vehicle or pursue a civil action for nuisance against the driver/owner of the vehicle. However, taking legal action can be a long and potentially expensive process but you may have some cover in relation to this on your house insurance.

Points to note:
Under no circumstances would I advocate you merely pushing the vehicle onto a road and leaving it there, as you may commit an offence.
Don't damage/clamp the vehicle or have it removed by a third party without first seeking legal advice. If you do any of these things, you may commit a criminal offence or the owner may pursue a civil action against you.
You may be able to obtain the cost of having the vehicle removed from the owner but you will need to speak to your legal advisor about this.

You could always wait to see what the owner says once you get his details.I've checked online and it is taxed and MOT'd.

Surely Tort of abandoned goods ?
A torts notice is a legal document alerting the owner of items that have been abandoned on private land or property. It is issued in accordance with the Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977. ... As an involuntary bailee of the abandoned goods, you must take care of the items that have been left behind...etc...

Once you have the address send him a bill for parking.
You cannot do that because there is no contract. However, why not send a letter recorded delivery asking him to move the car or if he wishes to continue to park in your space there is a charge of £20 per day thus creating a contract. Then start sending bills.
I would be very reluctant to solve this other than amicably. I assume that, going forward you want to use the car parking space. I would always be concerned about parking there and should anything happen to my car, I would always think it was connected.
It's weird how many are suggesting illegal ways to deal with this on the same forums as those who get animated if a parking notice asks instead of invites them to pay what they owe.

It’s amazing isn’t it.It's weird how many are suggesting illegal ways to deal with this on the same forums as those who get animated if a parking notice asks instead of invites them to pay what they owe.
They park on someone’s private land and get really angry when someone tries to charge them £60 for it.
But when someone parks on their private land, they suddenly come up with all manner of illegal ways to damage the vehicle or inconvenience the driver.
