Joining the M25 near the Dartford crossing there are two slip roads (different roads joining) I noticed an Ambulance with blues on I was in no hurry doing 50/60MPH so the Ambulance passed me in the other lane before entering the main carriageway the Ambulance then moved directly to the outside lane where it continued at 55/60MPH causing tailbacks in all but lane one. Are the drivers trained to do this to keep the road congestion free ahead so as not to impede their progress if the road becomes congested? or should they travel in a lane appropriate for their progress and would it be a problem to overtake on the right if this were the case?. No one “undertook” but it must’ve been very tempting to do so
When my daughter was moved between Cheltenham and Bristol (she was very ill) the ambulance went down the m5 at 40mph blues on. It was all about being smooth with sudden braking, turning etc, whilst being unimpeded and getting there quickly. A very difficult balance to achieve

t cut the ambulance up turning left from the right hand lane in front of it. (The the time, I would have had zero misgivings about beating those idiots to a pulp)

I'm on the motorway in roadworks and the carriageway has been reduced to a single lane. I have an ambulance behind me with blue lights on and but no siren. It is ANPR camera-ed. Is there anything I should be doing apart from going at 50mph? I can't pull in between the cones into the live workzone and I'm 100% sure with the traffic, I'd never get let out.

You push it as far as the 10%+2 will allow. There was an ambulance is not going to get you off a ticket, and the driver probably wouldn't want you to get one.I'm on the motorway in roadworks and the carriageway has been reduced to a single lane. They should turn the lights off as well as the sirens so not to put any pressure on anyone. I'm on the motorway in roadworks and the carriageway has been reduced to a single lane. But keep going at the speed limit and pull over when you can
. I once caught an ambulance up on a single carriage way road. It wasn't on Blue lights and was dawdling at around 45 mph.
As we went onto a long straight, and I could see the road was clear, I pulled out to overtake it. I happened to be towing a caravan. The ambulance driver clearly didn't like being overtaken by a caravan and suddenly when I was about 3/4s of the way past, the blues & twos came on and the ambulance put his foot down.
I completed the overtaking manoeuvre as I thought that was the safest thing to do. The then Mrs Dunc suggested that I stop to let the ambulance past. However, I thought this would actually slow up the ambulance as he would have to re-pass me.
I continued to make good progress and the ambulance, still with blue lights flashing, was soon a tiny spec in the rear view mirrors.
