Someone has called me a peadophile on Facebook

Someone has been calling me a peadophile on Facebook on multiple groups and has accused me of speaking to an underage girls which has absolutely no substance at all.
Someone had said the same thing about him on his Facebook wall back in December (I have this particular screenshot) and he's basically copied and pasted what this person has said about him and has been doing the same to me on all these Facebook groups.. this started against me on the Friday that has just gone, I've had run ins with this individual before on a car owners group about a particular member that I defended about a totally unrelated matter.. ever since then he's just made provocative comments here and there whenever he's come across me on these local area facebook group's..
He's basically used the word "peadophile" in multiple posts and has tagged me in these posts and posted my picture up. Word has got about massively and it's reached my friends and their mates who all find it as one big joke and questioning whether it's true. I don't find it funny and I extremely want to kick this ****ts head in.
He's posted it on groups with on average 30k members, I estimated he's posted it on well over 30+ Facebook groups with a reach of over 500,000 people.
I have reported it to the police and they are not taking it seriously and have stated they "won't investigate due to the current climate" and that I should "block and ignore this person, and that I should take no notice of him" and that I should contact them again if people decide to turn up to my door.
I reported it to local police on the live chat got a log number and officer called me asked for his name and said there's many xxxxx xxxxxx in xxxxxx so unless you know their date of birth she can't narrow it down. I haven't even got a crime reference number just a log number!!
I want to take matters in my own hands and beat the living **** out him, problem is I don't know where he lives I am so angry that the police won't investigate it because when famous people or MPs get called similar things on twitter, they seem to take action quick and prosecute.
I need to know where he lives so I can have my day in court, could I successfully sue him for calling me peadophile and accusing me of being "caught speaking to underage girls" which is not true whatsoever.
I want payback and revenge. If I was to create multiple sponsored posts on Facebook about this individual calling him and accusing him of the same things he's accused me of, would there be any comebacks in relation to the police giving me a criminal record for doing so?

No he's blocked me so unable to report such posts if as I won't come across them and use the Facebook report button tools. Two people I know have reported some of his posts that they've come across but I don't think it's done the trick.So many immature idiots on here.

I am against the things he's accusing me off, I can't help it that I get wounded up easily, sure I could just get on with my life and ignore but I want payback, whether that's through the courts or for him to come to physical harm. Maybe post something along the lines of ‘if these heinous allegations are not taken down immediately you will hsve no option but to take legal action and will pursue him for defamation.
