At about 1330hrs today the southbound M5 was blocked by an overturned caravan.
The car and caravan were part of a convoy of similar vehicles, apparently heading to Exeter.
The carriageway was blocked for about 2 hours.
A dog escaped from the caravan and caused further chaos. Fortunately it was captured before a further accident occurred.
Police attended and made 3 arrests and seized 2 stolen vehicles.
A large number of HGVs delivering essential supplies were held up.
Clearly the Police who attended took appropriate steps.
I wonder why this convoy was not stopped and turned around earlier in its journey.

(I think you'd be surprised at what gets classified as:"essential supplies" at the moment. I'll give you a bit of a clue: It's not just food, groceries and medical supplies
)In fact, with the current reduction in traffic on the road, I suspect the overall delay caused was a lot less than the drivers would normally end up enduring.

You may be like me, a bit of a conundrum for them to solve, I act like a complete nutcase, so they don’t really know whether to attack or not, so they just go elsewhere and pick on some easier people. I remember once I thought I saw group of caravans moving onto a field nearby, so I stormed across the field in my Range Rover, ran to the biggest caravan, banged on the door and screamed in the face of the man that answered that they better stay away from my property or there would be trouble nd I’d burn his ‘f
king van to the ground’. I then drove offImagine my shock and embarrassment the next day when I drove past and it was the bloody circus in town!

Land owner came back the next day with a digger and started to dig massive trenches around their vehicles, caravans and across the gate whilst telling them they had an hour or so until they were trapped. They soon f
ked off. They're utter vermin though, they've had children laying down on a dual carriage way as a bargaining chip. Utter scum.
