Strange speed monitoring box at side of road

Hi,

Tonight driving home from work a box at the side of the road about 1 meter high in police colours yellow/blue was positioned on a corner. Not seen anything like it before, but I think it had a lens or window in the front of the box.



Anybody any ideas what it was?

I’ve seen a few of those around lately too. They look like some kind of police cameras due to the colour scheme but I’m not sure what they are.

They use these a lot on security sites if it is what I a thinking. They monitor remotely, never seen them on a road but you couldn't put anything past the authorities at them moment

ANPR check for registered keeper’s postcode compared to box location post code, should be feasible, and quick.

Ok, it’s actually near where some roads works were and there is some building materials left there.maybe it’s for security rather traffic monitoring?

It does sound like a motion activated security camera that some sites use. I've seen one companies kit that is blue with neon yellow checker pattern on it.

Yep, that’s it, it looks like the middle one from the link, but placed on the floor. Must be watching the entrance to the building site.

They have them in the window of our local Superdrug, not quite sure why, they've only recently appeared. I've seen them protecting emergency generators when there is power issues
