Police Speed Van- Fourteen Days of Dread

Driving from the Lake District after some fresh air and exercise, while going through Coniston Cold I had a Porsche up my rear end while letting the car roll downhill. Waze was indicating 34 MPH by the time the red VW hit the brakes and it took me a second or two to react while thinking why is he slowing down. Got my answer as I went round the bend, not sure what speed I was doing then but quite certain I was around 33 mph. Fourteen days of dread have started 
. North Yorkshire police have a 10% + 2 MPH buffer to apply at their discretion but with where this guy was parked, I have a feeling it is not going to be applied here.
Mainly my fault for letting the car in front and the Porsche behind me dictate my speed. However I am pretty p
d off with Porsche for being so close. Will be my first ticket in 5 years of driving. Oh well, will wait and see what happens.
Seems like the van had just finished moving sites because Waze had alerted me of police presence on 2 occasions and both times it was on an open road and field with the plod not in sight. I am beginning to think the operator must have been using Waze as well and moving as soon as they saw the van had been clocked. Cheeky bugger if he was

Why wouldn’t they apply the tolerance? Seems standard to me, long sight lines, you were only doing 33/34, surely you aren’t target number one in the scheme of things?

Isn't the lowering of the tolerance at lower speeds built-in to the calculation? In a 70 there's a 9mph tolerance and at 30 there's only a 5mph tolerance. In any case, if the OP thinks he was doing 33 then he was probably only doing 30. Most speedometers seem to overread by 2-3 mph at 30mph.LunarOne said:

Nope the tolerance is increased at lower speeds.at 70, the tolerance is 8mph. 78/70=1.1142, so 11% to 0 DP
at 30, the tolerance is 4mph, 34/30=1.3333, so 13% to 0 DP
