Ban abroad ban in UK?

Hello i came back from Poland last night and while driving to the aiport in Poland got caught speeding and they gave me a fine and took me uk license of me for for 3 months and they said they going to send it to uk dvla and am Just worried that dvla can ban me in here for speeding in other country aswell am Just worried.

No, another country's laws can't apply anywhere else, at worst (if you had been nabbed by fixed camera) there is a mechanism for fines to be followed up, but you have paid. I don't know why they retained your licence. Personally I would do nothing at all unless I get anything in the post, if you don't get your licence back within a few weeks just write to DVLA explaining you have paid a speeding fine and the Polish authorities should have forwarded your driving licence to them and if not please advise re the issue of a replacement... I would skip any mention of 3 months bla bla bla.

Keep an eye on your credit report/credit card statements/general financial well-being for a few months. The whole thing smells of fish.

....except for Scotland that is, you could be within the alcohol limit in England cross briefly into Scotland and be over and receive a full UK ban.

There is also a mutual recognition of driving disqualifications between Ireland, Northern Ireland & the UK.

You'll be absolutely fine, report your UK licence lost and get a replacement sent out. The polish licensing authorities are still a communist organisation and are done at town/city hall level so the police will need to work out which town hall if any are supposed to send your licence to the DVLA (that will take them 6 months) Then they probably won't send it at all.

I swapped my UK licence for a polish one 4 years ago and my UK licence is still active. Nothing to worry about as they simply don't have the mechanisms to communicate with the UK.

How the fk did you manage to get a driving ban in Poland? People here can't drive for st and somehow manage to keep their licences. Which road and what speed are we talking?

I've been caught a few times speeding in Poland and got nothing more than a slap on the wrist.

Back when I lived and worked in Germany attached with the armed forces ( I worked for the NAAFI)
We had to obtain a British Forces Germany driving licence ,these were only in force in Germany. If we got a disqualification in Germany we could still drive in all the neighbouring countries with our UK licence.
