Totting Up Ban - how long for DVLA to process it?

Went back to Court after case for 24 in 20 kept getting adjourned due to COVID-19... sadly, it's 6 months off the road. It could affect work as I drive a van, but might find out if I can do the same role on foot... anyways, how long for the Court to send it to DVLA, they told me I had to pay within 14 days, the case was last Saturday 1 August.
Rang DVLA, seems to be constant busy tone, the line's been engaged more times than Katie Price. Does it take long for them to update details, and what's the process for getting the licence back after 26 weeks of Shanks Pony (walking)?

Yes, you read that correctly... 20 Zones are all over London now, and the signage was too small to see... it's Hackney Council's biggest earner, it seems. Cameras are set at exactly 20, no tolerance. The latest offence happened almost a year ago, but due to COVID-19, it was adjourned for such a long time, plus the usual processes of sending off the NIP after the leasing company who look after the van had done the admin, thrn SJPN processed and summons eventually sent out. Actually just read totting up. What else have you contributed to that this has pushed them over the edge?

I haven't been driving ever since leaving court, I went there by bus. The days of "hardship" are over, I think they don't want people with crazy numbers of points on their licences on the roads anymore, and have to be seen as tougher on drivers. First ever ban, but do all points get taken off? I know there's a massive backlog due to COVID-19, as DVLA lines constantly busy. I have to pay the court within 2 weeks, but no paperwork received yet.
Happy enough to be on the bus or on foot for work, or look for a new role which means walking about for the next 180 days or so.
It was just Totting Up, but I know if you are caught driving whilst banned, it's straight to the nick, and sent to court, then prison, and ban for a year... not something I would ever consider. It's just that the records haven't been updated yet, so was curious.

The ban starts when ordered by the court, not when the DVLA records are updated..Another example of London’s war on the motorist - OP you have my sympathy. These 20mph limits are ridiculous and cover pretty much the entirety of central London now. I remember during the lockdown having to crawl along the embankment at 20mph for absolutely no reason because no one was around but the speed cameras are still live.
For future reference, and whilst I don’t speed as a general rule, but my Tom Tom with speed alerts has been brilliant for telling you where the cameras are so you can make 100% sure you’re bang on.
TBH I’m getting sick to death of driving in London, it’s not even the traffic, it’s the blatant hatred from all of the boroughs that you’d even want to use a car in central London - however if they can find me a pushbike that’s able to carry 2 sets of steps, a whole host of electrical test gear and various commonly used components id be happy to commute using a bike... until then I’ll have to keep paying stupid fines where they decide to close certain roads at certain times (Westminster by the Houses of Parliament) and other no right turns for no reason etc, or watch my speedo like a hawk because safety. Our engineers aren’t allowed in the Rotherhithe tunnel either due to height.

And I thought Bristol used to be bad! Is London bringing in 20 limits all over the place or just on residential roads?

There are mutiple courses available. As a general rule, you can't do the same course within a three year period (where offence dates are the relevant dates). It's not usually an issue to do a NSAC then NSAC20 then NMAC within a short timeframe. agtlaw said:

There are mutiple courses available. As a general rule, you can't do the same course within a three year period (where offence dates are the relevant dates). It's not usually an issue to do a NSAC then NSAC20 then NMAC within a short timeframe. I am about to have a meeting with my employers about loss of licence and where things go from here. The bills never stop, so might need a Plan B such as walking on foot or public transport to see clients.

They won't take action until 24MPH - which sadly is the speed you were doing.The council doesn't get the money (unless it's done differently in London).
