Do scam vans have aircon ?

Have passed a few of these recently in the current 34C temps.... Was wondering if these Knights of Revenue Collection Road Safety actually have aircon and if so are they allowed to run it. Especially as running the diesel engine all day might cause more damage to nearby children / polar bears than the speeding drivers will as well as upsetting Greta...?

They do have a/c AFAIK I suspect they run a generator to power the a/c & all the camera etc. No way would the engine be happy ticking away for hours.
I wonder what they use to run the generator.The Met’s “critical Incident responce” unit/trailer is powered by a serious amount of batteries and inverter’s to power all the onboard computers/equipment.
Supposedly more reliable than a generator, as rarely used. I believe the last time it was used was the london bridge terror attack.
Could be smaller scale - on batteries, however guess they just leave the engines running, as they are not normally in one location for that long at a time.

I'm certainly not!It just seemed strange to me that some body said the engine wouldn't like ticking over for hours so wanted to use a generator, which uses............an engine ticking over for hours!!!
h about speed camera vans. There's more than enough salt to power a small city. Depends on the draw for the cooling and what method is used?
We had vans that ran off an inverter (Victron), the system had a battery management that topped off the large batteries in the event of mains failure, the batteries could hold load of around 5 amps give or take for a few hours. Run the engine with an uprated alternator and providing you balanced the load with the input from the charging then you could run for as long as there was diesel in the tank. Though these had large air cons and if the mains went the aircon was dropped out due to the size but the kit generated a lot of heat, how much would you need for a small power use?
Small geny incorporated to the system is useful, some of the larger geny systems could also cope with the aircon.
Suppose it boils down to how much cooling required from the extra heat generated and what method (open the window or aircon).
