I am having the first of my two planned RideDrive Sessions tomorrow morning (4 hours). I have read Roadcraft (again), sorted the Audi S2 out with new tyres and check up and it looks like the weather is going to be perfect. Anything else I should do before tomorrow?

Can't wait! :bounce:

Cheers,

Steve

Gary was my instructor a couple of years back. (I'm Didcot too) Very easy going but knows his stuff.
Have fun.

Got back earlier today after a strenuous 4 hours in the car. Thanks to my instructor Gary who was very knowledgable and patient and definately found my weak spots.

Lots to work on before my next session:

Overtaking: Pull pull out first BEFORE putting your foot down then GENTLY back in again...

Gearchanging: Try to be much smoother rather than wrenching the passengers head as the car comes back on boost!

Vanishing points: Work on using these to assess the bend and speed up progress by smoothing out the progress

When Stationary: Leave a 6 foot gap in front to allow for any inforseen problems with car in front.

Driving Position: Try to adopt a more relaxed arm position and move a little closer to the wheel.

To sum up, a very enjoyable morning, Gary was great company and kept me on my toes. Unfortunately half way through we had the biggest rain storm ever and we were encountering a lot of standing water on the single track roads that made it a lot harder and a bit like the RAC rally!

Thanks again to Gary and Ridedrive for an excellent intial course...

Cheers,

Steve
