I was pulled on Saturday on the M1 for doing 103.7mph - stupid I know - but does anyone have any advise / websites - I've never had any trouble with the police before (i.e clean licence for 12 years) - what am I looking at?
Thanks
Why stupid ? Were you driving dangerously and endangering lives or were you just driving along at a reasonable speed for the conditions ?
It is about time we stopped saying we're stupid and turned the situation round to say that a single, low, fixed limit of 70mph is stupid and it's even dafter to give people fines and points for driving sensibly.
I use the M1 a lot and at times, 50mph is plenty and other times on some stretches, 120 mph would be reasonable.
(Here's hoping you weren't driving like a
wit
) I agree that the speed-limit on m-ways is too slow, and given the m-way was virtually clear of traffic, I do feel that I've been unlucky to be caught, but I don't think this will do me any favours if I use this line in court - its a shame as the speed limit does need review, but then again I need my licence!

Well obviously in court you kiss ass, but on here, between ourselves, we can say what we mean, can't we?

If you had used the "pepipoo approach" to being pulled you would have held the coppers up for hours

Hello all!!
Alright, I'm jumping the gun a bit, but I'm back from the States due to visa problems and I'm setting up a motoring defence website. It's going to take a couple of weeks yet to get it organised, but I've jumped in here just now for a reason that is becoming deeply strange.
This is the THIRD case I've heard of, two of which I'm defending at the moment where the measured speed is alleged to be 103.7 MPH.
I would find it very strange to put two the same down to coincidence, but THREE??
Thee has to be a reason for this.
DVD, FiF, any ideas?
E-mail me Duggan if you want to defend it, there are lots of ways of doing it.

That's really odd I'm due in court 20th july for you guessed it 103.7mph all be it the summons has rounded down to 103mph but that was certainly the figure on the Lti 20/20 handheld no video attached.
On the assumption that you're not winding me up, this is extremely interesting.
As an engineer my instincts are telling me there is a technical explanation for this which just might have the guts of a defence.
So we need anyone else who has been pulled or prosecuted for this speed to contact me and we can have a look at any similarities there might be in the cases.
