PCN two plus months on?

I've recieved a parking charge notice 2 and a bit months on after the alleged offence. This is due in part to the car being a lease car so it's taken time to get to the lease car then to indentify me as the current user of the vehicle.

The main issue I have is with the ammount of time thats passed it's difficult to mount a credible challenge. We use the car park regularly, we'd tend to keep all our parking tickets in door card from force of habit then I tend to bin them. Having been and looked I've got tickets as far back as 4 weeks ago for the particular car park. My wife seems to recall an occasion where the machine swallowed her money and didn't provide a ticket.

I don't believe it's simply a case of filling these in the bin any longer as ultimately it's down to whether they would risk taking you to court. It's 60 quid but not sure I can be arsed with the time and effort in contesting.

Just annoying the amount of time that's past and I've 40 odd quids worth of tickets over the last 4 weeks.

The limitation period for a civil claim alleging debt or breach of contract is six years from when the debt arose or the contract was breached, so two months to send a bill isn't out of the ordinary. .
