Fella up the road has a transporter with the reg re-arranged to be PRO 6 TON.
He quite often has a trailer too.
If he is running at 6 ton (or over 3.5t) for a business I think he needs a tachograph (which he may have).
Anyone know if he needs an Operators licence as well?
And before anyone tells me to mind my own etc - I am just curious not trying to be a git about it.

Sounds as though you're fishing for possible information concerning what he does, to cause him problems!

I posted his reg because it just struck me as he went past - it's on his truck so it's hardly a secret.
I keep seeing those plod tweets where they and/or VOSA have stopped a 3.5t GVW car transporter for being overweight - and I assumed the next size up would be a 7.5t truck - but this is a chassis cab with transporter body (and a trailer at times) - and I wondered if these things get made at higher than 3.5 GVW but lower than 7.5. IIRC at 7.5 you need CPC and O Licence but I wasn't sure if that applies to greater than 3.5 but less than 7.5 - I am just a nerd about this stuff - wish him no ill and have no evil intent toward the chap who obviously just trying to earn a living like the rest of us.

I thought if you are using anything over 3.5t for commercial gain then you required a tacho. It’s been a while since I’ve read up on it so that link may help.

Tried it on my app and it can't find it so that's why.
Pretty sure that as it's his personal truck and not being rented out and the bloke passed his test before the 90s he can roll around at up to 7.5t with no tacho.
Besides, in less you are seeing a Transit based recovery truck with cars stacked 2 high held on with bungee cords I'd mind my own business.
