Slightly left scratching my head on the policy acceptance statements on a quote for Merc A-class through Churchill (via price comparison site). The car is on a personal lease for 3 years.

On the Churchill website, it states as part of the acceptance;

"The vehicle is owned and registered by you, your spouse, partner or civil partner (not business partner), by your parent, employer or a lease company.

Your documents will state that the policyholder is the legal owner and registered keeper of the vehicle. The vehicle must be kept at your address."

Surely the first and second points contradict each other or am I missing something here? If point 1 confirms that the vehicle can be 'owned and registered by a lease company' how can they say in paragraph 2 that I as the policyholder would be the legal owner (which would clearly be the lease company).

In two minds whether to accept this as it stands as when calling them, invariably, the act of clarifying things always hikes the price even if the original status would have been acceptable.

Just wondering if anyone had any useful opinions?

The second part is saying what the documents will say. It's not actually a contract term. I assume that means the documents they will send you.

Depends on your approach. If you are worried clarify it now. It's unlikely to put the price up. In my view.
