72 mph in a 50 zone (a dual carriageway that has only recently been changed from national speed limit to 50) - Do you think a fixed penalty would be offered in this case or not?

Hi Racy - yeah, I think you're ok.....at least until the new road safety bill gets approved.

IIRC, it's at greater than 26mph over the limit that it starts to be a summons. I got a court summons in 1998 for being caught at 96 on a motorway. Got an SP50 and 5 points for it! Middle of the bloody night too!

Hi All,

Didn't want to start a new thread. Just got home, took a halfday, Queen concert cancelled .

Hmm intesting letter...

Dear Sir/Madam...you failed to comply with a speed limit of 30mph.... the vechicle being driven at 57mph.

Was on an A road just between Harpenden and Redborn. The funny thing I was actually sticking to 65 - 70 on the motor way

What do you think? more than 3 points?

Cheers

Sunil

PS I have a 964 C2.

More than 25mph over the limit must go to court.

Expect you will get 6 points and £200 fine (depends on income)you have to fill out a means test form stating income and expenditure.
