From reading the OP I don't think they reversed in, more like they swung in nose first then hit the concrete block on the front end and probably had no chance to see the block before the crunch. If the block is there to stop people parking to free up access down the side of the unit then they need a better solution.
They have a little bit of liability on them, since that is a trips and falls hazard. Really, that parking bay should be coned off to prevent people coming in. Like you say, the comment that was said to you suggests you're not the first and probably wont be the last. Worth raising it with them as they know it is an issue and just politely ask them to perhaps corden off the bay to prevent people parking there.

king wall!I would be extremely annoyed with the damage incurred, but think you got off lightly if you consider the enormous concrete slab - easy to spot from the photo, maybe not so much when driving. Unfortunately I don't think the garage would entertain any claims of responsibility, but doesn't reflect well on them. Vote with your feet.
Really feel for you OP reading that my thoughts went to me turning round to park by a kerb and heard the crunching one of the kerbstones was sticking out ruined my wheel arch and bits and pieces. Now on one hand I should have seen it but the council went 50/50 on the £1200 cost ,as my insurance had paid up and I had no claim bonus protector and my excess was £200 I excepted as I really didnt need more grief. Maybe put your post up on the "speed plod and the law " forum on here

It's reasonable to say it's ridiculously placed, but you were driving the car and should have checked there was nothing in the space before reversing into the massive great concrete block.I'd tell the garage it's in a stupid place and get it moved for the next person, but don't seriously expect them to contribute.
