Photo evidence unclear

Had a speeding ticket through and i’m in the midst of selling (advert proof available) and have given a couple of test drives so was unsure of who was driving.
Asked for photo evidence to clarify and there is no way on gods earth can i see who was driving, you cant even see a shape of anyone driving.
What happens in a situation like this? i know the road and its fixed camera position and never speed down the road, i’m not willing to take points on someone else's behalf.

Even selling your car, the only time I think you might have a reasonable, modern day excuse for not having reasonable records is if you did that whole poster in the windscreen thing. Everyone else will have called you, text you, WhatsApp messaged you, Facebook messaged you, emailed you, eBay messaged you… you know who came to see you, when, and on what day. And I don’t think they could be cross with you if you showed them the advert and gave them a telephone number/email address/link to a Facebook profile, as long as you did something better than “was a test pilot, sorry”.

Do you really think a bloke who presumably didn't buy your car is going to own up to speeding in it , take the fine , points or a course ?

To be fair, when I sold my Volvo last year, I let the guy test drive without me.Covid + leaving his wife behind + leaving his Macan + leaving the cash behind for the car = me being happy to let him go on his own.
As has been said though OP, selling a car privately, no one ever just turns up out the blue. You will have a call log, a text message, an eBay message or some form of communication telling you who, if anyone, may have been test driving the car at roughly the time.

You will have the date and time of the offence, so surely you could look back and see which of the potential buyers agreed to view it on that day/time.
Unless somehow you had loads of people viewing it in quick succession.
Even if you don't have the full details, a name and phone number means you are at least trying and would be a lot more credible than "oh it was someone who came to test drive it, but I have no contact details for them at all, but it definitely wasn't me, honest"

I’ve skimmed the RTA and it simply referred to ‘reasonable diligence’ with no mention of what that entails. I await correction if I’ve missed something.Other Googling suggests contacting potential other drivers to confirm or deny that it may be them.
If all the OP has is ‘well it must have been someone else because it wasn’t me’ and has no details about the mystery driver then I think he’s in trouble.
What would count as "evidence" another was driving in this instance? Would a text "see at 12" which happens to be 30mins before offence be enough to send the camerascameras after them instead or is it pot luck, or onus on you "prove innocence to a more satisfying degree"? Would a clever reply "pls bring licence/insurance see u at 12" help?
I suppose these days you could video the whole interaction without too much cost but its all getting a bit silly isn't it.

I remember a similar case. The defence was successful, although the details were a little different.
The photo showed two blurred images in the car. The defence was that the car had been driven by two perspective purchasers that day. The defendant said that he only drove the car by himself that day. He had details of the two purchasers: one said it wasn't him and the other details were false.

I advertised 2 of our cars whilst here for a short while to gauge interest..
Both being quite high end and rare saw the phone ringing off the hook and emails equally so, so much that i removed the advert for one of them as it was too much.
This car i persisted with and thought to save hassle i’d arrange all test drives for one day, so i had 4 drivers in one day, each proved their insurance and i took an image of each driving license, hence the request for photo evidence, i didn't log times but have texts from 2 of them that were around the offence time but they were close to each other and dont think we took same route for both (not sure which)
It was only 45 in a 40 so as a passenger i wasnt being paranoid watching the speedo tbh and doubt id notice the differential anyway, all the people testing were of an older generation like myself so not prone to speeding.
I will give the info of the 2 suspects, if they give the police the runaround and they come back to me then i’ll tick the awareness course option and hope for the best.
