I remember reading something about parking tickets being issued in the post after parking "offences" being spotted by CCTV in Croydon.
The Transport for London (Consequential Provisions) Order 2005 that came in 14.2.05 under Schedule 2 enables TfL to serve penalty charge notices for parking contraventions on GLA roads on the basis of camera information and where a parking attendant is prevented from issuing a ticket.

There is a mechanism for them to issue the ticket after you have sped off but I don't know all the details. It was mentioned on the parking wars programm. I once had a warden claim he ticketed me and I know that he didn't. When I got the notice via the post with the increased penalty I complained to the council and it was dropped without arguments? Very strange.

Ist a case of "I've started so I finish" - as once they start to enter details ... ist issue of ticket.
You have to be very careful in Cockermouth ... if you are over white lines - they will issue a ticket. Have been stories und letters of compalint in local rags about it.
Of course - am purrrrr-fection und always parked proper!

Depends whether its an official traffic warden or a police officer or not. I can attest that if the guy issuing a ticket is employed by a private company then you can just drive off as long as it hasn't been attached to your car. I have done exactly that
The guy tried to obstruct me getting into the car to give him time to write it
All he was left with was a half written ticket and an empty parkingg space....
