Towbar mounted box - do I need lights as well

Obviously, I'm gonna need to put a number plate on the box. (Any reason why I cant use a square/two line one?)

What are the lawas regarding lights?

The box does'nt cover the lights so from straight behind you can see both brake lights. Because the box sticks out about 40cm if you go to the side you can't see the furthest light.

Is that OK? Or do you need to be able to see both lights from anywhere behind the car?

Not sure, but if you have electrics at the tow bar already, I’d look at some cheap LED low profile jobbies mounted - showing willing may help a delay getting pulled by rozzers

Can’t you put a lighting board on it and then you know you are okay?
(As you have a towbar, I presume you have an electric socket).

Seems bit of a grey area but I "think" both sides need to be visible.
