Dual carriageway - one way road - speed limit?

Probably a daft question, but would an NSL one way road be 60 or 70?

With the definition of a dual carriageway being separated from oncoming traffic, I guess it would be 60, as there is no oncoming traffic or other carriageway.

Does even such a road exist?

Likely a pointless question but it did get me wondering.

Number of lanes doesn't matter. Could be one lane.

If there is a hard barrier between the carriages the NSL is 70. Doesnt have to be dual.

Isn't each side of a dual carriageway treated as separate roads anyway? Possible to have different limits on each side.

That's a good point. You get it a lot with road works.

But you do have another carriageway still.

If it's a one way road the there isn't another carriageway so 60. (Unless there are two carriageways going the same way I suppose).

Just over haf a mile in length and 60mph limit, still get annoying idiots who want to turn right at the next roundabout insisting on sitting in the RH lane all the way at 40/45mph

That's not technically a one way street, the apparent one way street going the other way is another carriageway of the same road.

I drive/ride this regularly and I'm still amazed that it has a 70mph limit, it is possible to do 70 down there but you wouldn't want to be side by side with another car for anything other than the start of it and getting airborne is also easily done but you need to make sure you are pointing in the right direction, even more so on a bike

Dual carriageway is 70 - the definition is a barrier between traffic travelling in opposite directions. Can be 1 or 2 lanes either way, that bit is irrelevant

Maybe the title should be changed to 'exciting 70 sections, which look like they shouldn't be'.

Though that risks the killjoys with the placards.
