Parking ticket Company changed details or the yellow ticket.

can anyone help, or advise.
son got a parking ticket it had on it his number plate but the parking attendant had written
down his number wrong
transposing a letter zero for the letter O.
can we appeal this or not.
its a private parking company.
they they had the cheek to send him a photo of the yellow fine on his windscreen but omitted to send a copy of the photo of his car
which clearly shows his number plate is different to that on the yellow ticket.
its like they know that cant get away with it.
we will take them on as we have in the past and won.
Ie made them go away.
If anyone has experienced this it would great for some input or some laws to spout
currently looking at the IPC code of Practice.

If they’ve posted to him it demonstrates they managed to get the correct registration plate when they made an enquiry at the DVLA.
If it’s just one stuck to his windscreen, I’d ignore it as when they make an enquiry with the <wrong> reg it’ll come back from the DVLA with no information.

It was stuck to his windscreen, so they must have changed the registration
number on this legal document so they could get the details from the DVLA.
if they had used the details on the parking ticket as is they would not have got his details.

Surely this wont stand up in the small claims court.

Have I read this correctly...you want to appeal the ticket based on the attendant transposing a 0 and a O?
If it's hand written how would you tell if it's a 0 or a O? (Unless I'm reading it wrongly too?)
Or are tickets not handwritten?

IIRC O and 0 are exactly the same in the typeface used for car registrations. There is zero possibility of using that as a get-out. Your best bet is to sign up with Pepipoo and ask for their help. Don't bother with the 0/O angle there, but do make sure you read some of their threads and understand what information you need to provide before posting there.
FWIW you won't get much good advice on private parking tickets on PH. You will get lots of arguing and people telling you to suck it up, etc. Pepipoo (and the Moneysavingexpert forum) are your best bet for finding people that will actually want to help.

Do you think you can "get off" on an 0 or an O?
Why are you fighting your son's battles? You don't know what happened.

Anybody in the job of giving out tickets would be aware of number plate formats so it's just a slip of the pen..

He done his appeal sent it off. I guess none of you have every helped you kids through something like this.
I just thought the power of Pistonheads would be useful.
It was an o with a line through it even i am getting confused now.
