What are these?
Discussion
Driving around london, I noticed these little things all around london (especially in central london) I can’t figure out what they are or what’s the purpose of them, it seems they are placed all over, however I noticed most of them are at bigger junctions from what I observed.
Are they some sort of the ANPR cameras, something to do with ULEZ or something completely different?

With the proliferation of cameras on the roads, in public places, etc we have now, I think there should be an easy way of identifying what their purpose is e.g. ANPR, traffic monitor, red light camera, etc.
Well I know for a fact red light cameras look like speed cameras, I think that’s the only ones that are used in the UK, I never heard of anyone getting a ticket for running a red light that’s been snapped on a CCTV of some sort, don’t know why they don’t do that as it would be quiet easy to do with all the amount of cameras especially in london. Great example is how they enforce the bus lane; they could easily enforce red lights with these too but they don’t, well at least I never heard of them being used for this purpose.Someone mentioned the camera in question is just for public safety, that would make sense as they are quiet literally everywhere, does anyone know if that’s the only thing they are used for?
Also does anyone know what the cameras that enforce the ULEZ / Lorry ban zones etc look like then, and also the ANPR ones? It’s quiet interesting to see how many different types of cameras are being used in the capital.
