On my way to pick my son up driving from Chiswick area to Hammersmith. I was navigating the Chiswick roundabout stopped at a set of traffic lights and a moped pulls along side passenger side claiming I hit him. I said I heard nothing and I can’t see any damage on your bike. He said no I hit his leg. Wanted me to pull over. I couldn’t pull over from where I was as it’s all red routes and I was a bit suspect about his claim. On the slip road to the A4 he started getting really aggressive swerving into my car and ushering me to stop. Obviously can’t because it’s a major road. We ended up in traffic and he drove his moped into my car. No damage but my thinking was ok I’m going to continue to my in laws because I know they have CCTV outside there block and security. Follows me all the way which is around 15 mins. I go to park up at which point he mounts the curb and I see him get off helmet in hand. Smashes it through my drivers window and hits me a couple of times with it. Fortunately a postie was nearby and pulled him away. He started claiming I have broken the law by failing to stop. At this point I was already on the phone to the police. Once he realised the severity of what happened he sped off. I managed to give the police his number plate and officers arrived about 20 seconds later.
Gave them a brief account of what happened and they are going to call me for a full statement tomorrow.
Still quite shocked by the whole thing. I don’t believe I hit him and there is no damage at all on my car (apart from my window being caved in) from the side he claimed I hit him?
The main reason for this post is to ask if there is anything else I need to do?
Police full report tomorrow and calling insurance company.

Sounds bit nuts and quote scary. Hope the police are able to find him and prosecute.
It's not clear in your post whether you feel there was an actually an opportunity to have hit him or not. You must have been aware if you overtook him or where driving closely alongside etc? Or did the accusation genuinely come from nowhere as far as you we're concerned and take you by surprise.

The only time I could of hit him would have been on the Chiswick roundabout. It was slow moving heavy traffic speed less than 10mph. What made me suspicious was that I was stopped at traffic lights on the roundabout for maybe 10-15 seconds and he just pulled along side me. I said I didn’t hear anything where is the damage? He said your car is all scratched up where you hit my leg. He lifted his trousers up and was pointing to his ankle.
Something seemed odd straight away to me and he became super aggressive very quickly.
Bit late for this incident, but I've driven to my nearest Police station a few times in the past whenever I've managed to pick up a nutter.
If they're genuine, they'll drive in with you when they see where you're going (never had that happen though).
Otherwise they feck off sharpish.
Sat nav should have stations listed, but there are far fewer these days than there used to be.

Yes you do make a valid point, however it was on a red route. Pretty sure you can’t just pull over unless it’s a serious accident. I once broke down on a red route, took me all of a few minutes to push my car out on to a side road but I still got a ticket. You should have stopped, exchanged details and sought witnesses.

Yes it was around 15 mins but this is in London traffic. 4 mile journey along the A4. I was going to pull into one of the side roads but after he drove into my car on his moped I wanted to go somewhere I knew is safe. I was comfortable I didn’t hit him and 0 damage on that side of the car he claims I hit him.

Who would realistically stop in the same circumstances?
OP good that the police are taking statements etc. can you keep the thread updated?
Does sound very suspect, probably wanted £50 off you straight away as compo plus your wallet.
I would also have a good look at your car in daylight to see if there is dent anywhere rather than scratches but depends upon what the moped rider was wearing.
The fact he rode off during the call to the Police I think says a lot about his intentions and there wasn't any contact at all.

Thanks everyone. I hope the police do take it further. Woken up this morning and he definitely hit me with his helmet then. Yesterday I didn’t have any pain from the adrenaline but my hand has bruised up a little and side of my face feels sore this morning.
From my experience yesterday if anything similar happens I will do the same thing, get to somewhere busy before swapping details. It’s all well and good saying pull over straight away but if it had been down a quiet side road god knows what could have happened. Yes in hindsight I could have found a petrol station or police station as others have said but seriously in the heat of the moment the first place that came to mind was my in laws flat. I know the security guys well and felt safe.

I wouldn't sit back and wait for the police to be proactive, get onto them and make sure the incident has been reported as based upon the facts you have been assaulted at the very least, get a crime number, etc. My concern would be this has been recorded as a traffic incident rather than an assault which is more serious.From my experience yesterday if anything similar happens I will do the same thing, get to somewhere busy before swapping details. The OP has said that statements are being taken tomorrow (well now today). For those of you that criticise DCW’s this is a case where dashcam footage is useful. I have my doubts the police will pursue it further without video evidence.
From a past experience… the police will speak to him, he will deny everything, the police will say “ok then” and close the case.
