Filter turn left lights, articulated lorries.

Was driving in London today and encountered a bit of a dodgy one, at least for an articulated lorry.
Basically there is 2 lanes at the junction in question, left hand lane turn left only and right hand lane is ahead and turn right only; it’s all nice and easy if your driving a car not an articulated lorry.
To get the lorry around that bend and turn left I had to straddle both lanes, position myself bang on in the middle of both, there was bollards to the left of me and a metal fence on both side of the road, so without straddling the lanes it’s impossible to get the unit and a trailer around without clipping anything and causing damage to both the road furniture and trailer/unit.
Now as soon as my light turned green to turn left I have proceeded to do so, at that point the straight ahead and turn right lights were still red however, there is a red light camera there which in fact did flash, I guess the sensors were set off for the straight ahead and turn right lane, even though I was turning left.
What’s the crack on this, is there even a point appealing it if it does come through, in my eyes there is literally nothing I could of done to avoid it, unless I decided to wait an extra minute or so (blocking all the traffic behind me from proceeding left) for all the lights to literally turn green (both left turn and ahead, you get the point)
If I was to appeal this if it does in fact come through would saying that the turn left light, where I wanted to go and did in fact go, was green, and I had to use all the space available to safely proceed through the junction? Would that be a valid defence or that doesn’t stand a chance in court?
Some of these junctions are an absolute joke to get an attic through, and it just feels like a proper cash machine with all these cameras especially in central london.

It’s understandable why it’s flashed it’s done it’s job, hopefully someone uses their noodle before sending the ticket lol.
The red light is for those vehicles going straight ahead and (probably) for those turning right. If the image shows your vehicle turning left, you should not receive a fixed penalty. The offence is going straight ahead, not triggering a camera. If you get a ticket, explain that you did not fail to conform to the red light.
