Yes, I know the easy answer would be ‘none of your business’, but we are meant to live in a polite society where people respect each other, so…

Went to a retail park in Carlisle today. To get some Lego (shamefully, for me). Cut up going into the car park by angry small man in a brand new gangster spec Defender. No reaction from me, just amused by his hand waving while I was reversing into a space. He then drives into a disabled space, and gets out with his Karen and 2 (cute) little girls.

Made the fatal mistake of saying to his wife (he’d stormed in after hand waving) that they’d forgotten to put their blue badge up. Cue massive abuse from her.

Get into shop. Walk up aisle for my ‘Lego pleasure’ and hear ‘Oi baldy’. Walked back, and was asked if I had a problem. Was then asked if I had a ‘fking problem’ and if ‘I wanted to do something about it. Pointed out that while I was bald, saying ‘fk’ in a toyshop, in front of his own daughters, leave alone other kids, was a bit inappropriate.

Got called ‘chicken’ because I was shaking (understandably). In the end, he saw the security guard getting up, so left. I promise I did not let his tyres down (I really didn’t, but fking tempting).

I was bloody terrified, but to be honest if you don’t call these tts out they will think they are right. His poor little kids are going to grow up to think the way to get what you want is to threaten people.

Vent over. But what would you do? Ignore the whole thing? To be honest I probably would’ve had he not cut me up in the first place.

No frozen sausage or red bull comments please.

Edited to be a bit more complete, not to change what happened btw.

On a more serious point, I have his number plate, he’s on cctv threatening me (confirmed by security guard - who was actually very nice). What to do? Make a stand and report to police (at least so he’s on the radar) or just ignore?

Sounds like common assault

As you say you have details of the individual, CCTV and a potential witness by way of the security guard. You’d be well within your rights to report it to the authorities

Worth reporting it IMHO. Continuing into the shop and using the C word in front of kids would do it for me. I wouldn't go so far as to press charges, but a visit from the BiB might make him think twice next time.

As a blue badge holder I really would like it if you put it in a report about himsmile

Very few people ever challenge this sort of person so they go though life with an overinflated sense of their own importance.

I'd do my best to fk with him as much as possible, police, press charges and generally be as big a pain to him as he has been to you and many others before.

He won't learn, they never do but he needs some hassle.

Report it, don't forget that the c word is one of only two that can be considered offensive and nobody has the right to tell you you were not offended by it

In view of the serious nature, on this occasion I think I would report it. I'd normally try to ignore such people but this one is probably well known as a local bully. The police might be very happy to visit his house, caravan park or whatever.

Thanks all.

I had kind of written it off, but with this guy (based on his instant trigger behaviour, especially in a toy shop, for gods sake), I’m more worried about his next interaction, so thought it best to report it so he is at least ‘noted’.

I’d happily report him for his behaviour in front of the children.

What a throbber

Report without hesitation.

I'd also be on the book of face for hours and hours and hours, trawling all the 'defender owners' pages trying to find his profile.

(Depending on how psycho I was feeling, I might even ring Land Rover and book my bosses car in for a service and check his home address to, you never know they might just slip up) <- I expect I'd not do that, however I'd certainly be stalking the book of face.

Then once I'd found his profile...then the fun would really start!
