Drove across to Wakefield yesterday, and through the roadworks on the A1/M62 Junction. Being a =n observant and careful sort of driver, I was aware of the GATSOs, and more annoyingly of the "10000 drivers caught since the year dot" signs that were there.

Both gone yesterday, which had the effect of slowing me even more, as I was hunting for the sodding things....

Anoyone know why they went?

I think they've taken the camera down at that site actually (just before the m62->a1 exit road).

What are the cameras on top of the thin steel towers for ?

I noticed they had gone on Monday. The road pilot was going mad, but I could only see the lines on the road, no cash machine in evidence.

Good job, as to get in to the left (to exit onto A1)lane past the lorry doing fifty, I had to either safely accelerate to pull in the space in front of him, thus breaking the law, or slam the breaks on, forcing lorry to illegally undertake me, probably cause an accident, but not brake the law. Oh its all about safety. lol

A call of "braker, braker!" to his CB might have helped - Streaky
