I'm in the middle of potentially blocking or removing the PAIR system on my Honda Motorcycle. This is to reduce the incessant decel popping with my aftermarket exhaust and had no power advantages.

Where do I stand with removing this and insurance? I'm confused as to why it is saying it's illegal to remove an emissions system yet my insurance company do offer insurance if you've declared something like a Decat.

Again. This is in regards to a Motorcycle - which aren't tested at the MOT for emissions.

Not sure insurance come into it.
The MOT does not directly check for emissions. Neither is the removal of cats or other equipment checked for.

Modifying a vehicle so that it no longer meets its emissions criteria is illegal.

As such, I suppose the ins co might argue, you've made your bike unroadworthy and revoke everything apart from your 3rd party cover.

The aftermarket exhaust can be a problem.
The bike might fail its MOT if the tester notices it's noisier than standard. Mostly they don't seem to care.
You might get pulled for noise or snapped by one of those new-fangled noise activated cameras.

There are rumours of a purge on loud bikes, much the same rumours since about 1977 I think.
