Bit toady there, but here goes.

Last night, was evacuated from my apartment complex as a result of a bomb scare at a nearby railway station. Despite the obvious consequencies of this & the possible threat to life & limb, the BiB were a model of calm restraint as they quickly transported the residents to a nearby hotel.

So just a thankyou from one member of Society who thinks you lot do a damn fine job in extreme & exceptional circumstances, despite everyday being subject to ill informed, ill judged, inflamatory & downright opportunistic comments from the media, Politicians, various extremist groups (& indeed on here).

Cheers.

Well, by far the majority of our coppers, including the BiB here are decent upstanding members of the Force who genuinely want to do their best for the public.

There are two problems :

(i) as with anything else, there are a very few who aren't fit to be coppers. Unfortunately the Police "Service" seems more obsessed with going after racist jokes and people not filing paperwork correctly than those who are guilty of more serious crimes. Why, I don't know, easier to get and better PR maybe ?

Personally, I think racist jokes should simply be a bollocking, and those guilty of dumping paperwork should be promoted.

(ii) they are Lions led by Donkeys, to coin a phrase. As with many public services, cr*p systems are enforced on them for the benefit of bureaucracy and targets, whose net benefit to the Policing of the country is nil.

So, in essence, I suspect there are as many good BiB on here as excellent drivers

They do a bloody difficult job very well for the most part, and the rest do a fairly easy job fairly well. I suspect that the complaints come from those who have managed to exasperate the humanity out of the slack we have in our laws, or who have just lucked out, and caught someone in a bad mood, or (gasp) been in the wrong...[Either that, or they outed Gone ]

What we need, purely in PH terms, is a better supported from the inside BiB, probably in terms of IT, so that a quick assault charge takes 10 minutes at kicking out time, so they can do the rest of the horrors, rather than a couple of hours down the station.
Failure to display? Parking ticket job, as we know you have a tax disc, because we ANPR'd you, rather than a summons.
We have an intelligent judiciary, and an intelligent enforcement agency. Join the dots, anyone?

Anyway, to try and get the thread back on track, I would add my admiration for the job they are doing at the minute.

It's a strange psychological manifestation isn't it?

Why do some people constantly have a pop at the BIB here we have a post congratulating a job of work and here we have the same old dirge being sprouted.

Sit down take a deep breath and tell yourself to have a word.

Here we have a post about the positive actions of the BIB and you still have a pop.

"Apartment complex", privately owned by me & costs a bloody fortune to mortgage.

"block of flats", Council owned sink estate where Chavs et al get subsidised housing.

Oh FFS.

It should be crashingly bloody obvious that the "criticisms" above are aimed at the "Police Service" which is cr*p, and not the actual Policemen and women who definitely aren't !

It is like most other public services. The Doctors and Nurses for example do a good job as far as they can, but vast amounts of money and time are wasted on pointless nonsense.

As another poster pointed out, the BiBs job could be made much more effective if *only* they didn't have to spend hours processing anyone they arrested.

This is a fault of the *service* and to point it out is not to criticise the BiB who are stuck with it !
