How can I find out if I'm still married?
Discussion
When we split 25 years ago, I moved 300 miles away. No contact with her for over 5 years, then she started divorce proceedings. I remember signing something agreeing to it, but don't remember getting anything more. No kids, no financial settlement, no arguments. We both kept what we owned.
What's the easiest way to find out if the divorce actually went through?
I may possibly be considering getting married again....

Assuming you don't know anything more than you've posted (ideally you'd have dates, name of court etc), then you need to fill in form D440 and specify a 10-year period. The Central Family court will then do a search of that period and let you knoe. Be warned, it's (a) £65 per 10 year period searched (b) a slow process.
Hope this helps

See if the ex has remarried - if so then you're golden.
Well, unless she's a bigamist ....... Isn't there a period of X years where the marriage is deemed no more if you haven't had any contact? It will shock you to learn I'm not a divorce lawyer.
If you hear constant nagging; you're still married.
But to make sure:
