HADECS are pretty visible, so as long as they aren’t every few miles I just slow down for them. Got a ticket for 82 from Avon and Somerset Police, so usually keep it under 80 when passing them. eg is 78mph OK, or can we get to 85mph without a ticket.
its the "smart" motorway sections - they're not that smart and full of MLM (but that's another thread) section though Cheshire is ok, the jam has been moved onto the Thelwell viaduct from between 18 - 19 (we had to endure four years of pain whilst the mway was being converted)
odd how the lowest speed shown when they are being used is always at the camera - odd that, the conspiracy theorist in me wonders if they collect ££ to help pay for uncle rishi’s cash bonanza the other year

I had the misfortune of driving through a "smart" section of the M27 near Portsmouth on Friday morning. None of it was set at NSL even though traffic was light, and consecutive signs were illuminated 60, 50, 60, 50, 60. This is the issue for me. Recent consultation on changes to the A38 near me asked respondents the degree to which they thought it was important to reduce speed limit from 40mph to 30 mph "for safety".
Nice leading question, and no data on any accidents caused by speed in the 31mph-40mph bracket provided of course.
Council tax up 3% too. My consultation response asking the council to stop spending money on this useless nonsense will of course be ignored!

I've been covering much of that route quite a bit over the last few years. Just over 200 miles door to door for me. Set the cruise at 70 and hope for an easy run without delays. Not a bad journey at all. Pay the toll around Brum every time now to keep moving. I just never see the point in doing 15mph - 20mph over the limit where you can to save about 15 minutes on the journey and spend the next 14 days worrying about an NIP arriving in the post.
