Two Speeding Offences 10 Minutes Apart

Going to post this on Pepipoo also, but incase anyone can advise:
So I've just had two NIPS from GMP, for offences 10 minutes apart. First is 65mph in a 50mph zone, second is 70mph in a variable 40mph zone. I'm obviously expecting a summons and possible short ban at least for the second one.
Have a few questions though:
1. From the guidelines it seems the first may be 3 points, the second magistrates - would any of this be taken into account together, or would magistrates simply lump another 6 points on the 3 points if that makes sense?
2. How slowly does the magistrates court work? I'm out of the country for 45 days from mid-July. Is it best to respond with driver details straight away to get the ball rolling, or should I send them just before I go? Essentially I don't want to come back to find I've missed a court summons and got in even more trouble / and or missed a window to accept 3 points for the first offence.
3. My insurance is due for renewal in a couple of weeks. Do I just renew as normal and then update my insurer when the chickens come home to roost?

Anything going to court will be around six months
As of today you haven't been convicted, or even charged so I don't believe you have to however, if they ask about pending cases then you must tell them.

I think he was talking about the time frame of getting to court, rather than the potential punishment to be dished out if/when it gets there.ks. In normal circumstances where it is a single speed limit and you have continuously exceeded it without stops, they could normally be persuaded to treat it as one continuous offence. In this case as it’s 2 different limits and only one offence is eligible for a FP ( 1mph too high for a course) I am not so sure this will be an option. Maybe Agt can advise. There’s is nothing to gain by delaying sending back the driver information asap

Thanks, the delay was rather due to me being out of the country, and not wanting to miss any correspondence.22yrs with a clean licence and now will be driving like miss daisy for four years with nine points fml.
As an aside, in hindsight I was stupid... but the 40mph variable was signed up on a gantry, but signed no further for a good few miles. Cars started joining from slip roads Etc. and no more 40mph signs, so I think like everyone else I assumed it had gone back to national speed limit. Gonna be a good few hundred people caught that night. Lucky I wasn't doing 85mph in a 40 tbh!

40 on the motorway gantries can be really tough. I'm always very careful to slow down but it sometime feels like you're going to get run over from behind the number of people who blast through at 60+ nevermind111 said:

Out of curiosity how does that work? Nobody who joins after the sign until the next one knows what the limit is and would understandably assume it is the national speed limit. Did you obtain your driving license from a Christmas cracker? Have you read the highway code? Can you not read road signs?
Why do you cry after you have been caught? Are you one of these people that buy a 200mph car thinking you can go faster than anyone else around the M25?

Ever seen it down to 20mph with a camera fitted?A free flowing motorway 50mph gantry limits followed by the the next one at 30 in the dark, with a Hadec camera fitted. 30 then changes to 20mph!! with nothing happening on the road. The DX lorry that I'd passed had to overtake me as I'd try to get to to somewhere near 30 without being rear-ended or flashed by the camera. Next gantry sign 50.
For anyone bored who wants to see footage, at 1:58 you see the camera flashes from the other carriageway. From that point onwards it's 50 as you come round the bend in the road to see the 30 limit. Then at 2:14 it drops to 20mph.

I had this on the M25 more than once. Lane closure red X down to one lane and 40mph. Then blank gantries ...had people blasting past on the inside sounding their horns. In the end I realised it was too dangerous to comply, so moved over into the closed lanes and sped up. Never did see an end of restriction gantry...just blank ones. I think you may have a case if there were just blank gantries/no repeated restriction/no return to national limit posted on the following gantries.Easternlight said:
