There have been a number of threads where some contributors (and they know who they are) have supported the introduction of new criminal laws ... even where there is existing legislation that covers the crime.

Made me chuckle yesterday to see the Treason Acts (1351 to 1848) being put forward by HMG, the CPS and the BiB as a means of acting against fomentors.

BTW, Omar Bakri Mohammed has apparently legged it to the Lebanon.

And, if B'Liar has his way with new legislation - which will have retrospective effect - Cherie could be arrested for her remark in 18 June 2002, just hours after a Hamas suicide bomber had blown up a bus packed full of Israelis, including schoolchildren, killing 19, that: "As long as young people feel they have got no hope but to blow themselves up, you are never going to make progress." What's the betting there will be a cut-off date (say, 19 June 2002) for retrospectivity?

Noticeable too Streaky that the first one charged was not under Terrorist legislation but existing legislation i.e. Offences Against Persons Act and Explosives Acts......

Speaking of doing thins with existing resources, I was disappointed we didn't lock the bombers up in the Tower of London.

Paddington Green nick is the deepest darkest nastiest hole in the country, I'm sure, but just imagine how good you'd feel if the headlines screamed that they'd been taken to THE TOWER.

Surprised spinner Blair didn't think of that.

And a perfect demonstration of why the laws that are being requested by Blair and Blair with their draconian powers (with no controls) should not be allowed.

Quite agree.

Anyone with a face as hideous as Cherie Blair (ever seen her smile, shudder) should be locked up for fear of causing lasting physcological harm to impressionable youngsters.

Tony must have been pissed when he met her at Uni.

Against Mr Blair (disability : being a smarmy tt) and Mrs Blair (disability: being an ugly tt).

And as travellers are a race through their common interest and culture, doubtless Labour MPs will be classified as such so the Telegraph can be closed down under the "Not allowing anyone to say anything bad about Islam" law promoted to buy the Islamic vote.
