Lease Van Huge Delay, Refund on Broker Fee?

I booked a VW Transporter from one of the big leasing co's in November 2021, £200 a month all in 5k a year, cracking deal. Unfortunately the looms were made in Ukraine, they are now shifting production to Egypt.
The broker emails me every month apologising for the delay, and advising they have no idea when a build date will be given. This morning's email actually said the lady at the broker was slowly going grey because of these delays. Realistically mid 2023 will probably be the earliest for delivery.
The broker says I can withdraw, but I lose the £200 booking fee. It is hardly my fault they cannot supply the goods within any kind of realistic timeframe, and they have now sent me an FCA for to complain.
Is it worth pursuing the money through the FCA or a waste of time? I went out and bought a second hand Transporter in the end.

Not their fault either... But they have taken £200 for nothing so please have a go through the FCA as we (I) would be interested in hearing the outcomeThe rates for leasing/contract hire have have go up a lot, you may not be able to get the same deal on anything else. Might be worth hanging in there and run something else in the mean time.
My work colleague waited for 13 months for a Citroen, the lease co where actually trying to talk him out of it as they did not want to honour the really cheap deal he got during lockdown, he said no and just waited.

Thank you for posting this on the forums. Our updates have been less frequent and only when prompted by email. We ordered prior to yours and only this month have been told it has shifted, up until then it was all fine for July, apparently! I had been hopeful as following VW camper forums they were starting to come through in 8 or 9 months.
Whilst we are mindful of the constraints on the suppliers there must be a cutoff point where they are deemed not to be able to supply. We have not tried asking for fee back yet as I am more bothered about actually getting a date than when it is, but for some reason they don't see not knowing if you are going to have something to drive as a problem or not!

Hi Lost in espace, thank you for the rely. I have updated my forum preferences now to allow messages (wasn't aware I hadn't selected that).Key fact I missed from the previous message is that we have now been given an estimate of Q4 2022.
It seems strange that the broker would direct you to the FCA so quickly. You normally make a complaint, end up in deadlock etc which can take 8 weeks.
I imagine the broker would not be a subscription member of the FCA and would have to pay fees. Normally the first 3 cases for a company are free and subsequent cases are £750 each. So either they've not had 3 cases are don't care or they are willing to gamble £750 vs. £200 refund.
