How long for NIP after an Section 172?

My wife uses my company car as her main car. She got caught speeding, she was doing 72 in a 50, she missed the signs going from 70 to 50. The company received the Section 172 around 6 weeks ago, this was filled in and sent back nominating my wife as the driver at the time of the offence. Since then she has not received anything. How long does this usually take to receive an NIP?

My main concern is that the S172 hasn't been received and the company ends up getting a fine or worse for failing to nominate the driver.

To be fair it’s not really your wife’s problem at the moment, maybe she could let her co know she hasn’t received anything and it maybe worth them checking they have supplied the correct info etc and maybe they should contact them to make sure they received 172 back from them. Not really much more she can do, at the moment it’s the CO’s responsibility

If the company gets a fine then your wife could always volunteer to pay it as a deduction from her wages If it doesn't have the appropriate procedures in place then this will be a useful lesson learnt. Chasing the authorities to ensure that your penalty arrives in good time is not the approach that most people take

Not generally, but In this case yes, the co checking it has been received and it has the correct information is the best thing to do, it could save them a large fine. It could also save the OP’s Missus from grief if it turns out they put an old address on it in error which happens quite frequently
