A322 Lightwater Bypass

SPECS cameras have been installed on the bypass, which made me cack my pants today..

However hidden away on the Woking Council's website is the fact that they have been installed as a technical trial by a private comapany and that there are no plans to make them Live in terms of prosecutions..

Bit of a discussion on here a few weeks ago. Go through them twice a day so was worried myself.

They also span 2 speed zones so I would imagine could never go live anyway.

1) change of speed limits, thousands don't notice...

2) there is still a theoretical maximum time that can be obtained over two limits.

Better stick to A3/ M25.

Thye're at either end on aluminium towers. Can't see them easily cos of the trees.

Not used for speeding anyway, rather for testing ANPR type stuff and traffic monitoring.

From memory the ones nearest the M3 are pointing at the opposite carraigeway (north) around 10 yards from the roundabout. Traffic has usually been stationary for a little while by this point.

Well, they are Specs cameras, and will be monitoring your speed, its just no presectutions will result
