Is there any intention of the highways agency patrol range rovers being given the ability to issue speeding tickets?

Or have I been speeding past them for ages by mistake?

(and can everyone stop braking when they see them!!!)

Officially no, unofficially what do you think?

Matter of time imho.

You wait ..... 1st it will be blue lights and sirens to help them get through the hold ups then a gradual increase in their powers so proper traffic officers are no longer required - or am I being cynical ?

No, you are probably entirely right.

Our BiB will be sandwiched IMO between the bureaucracy and the "cheapo coppers" like PSCOs.

The shambles that ensues will be covered up by statistical manipulation.

Surely not!! If they take the p*ss like that we'd all go and report them to the Police...

Oh.

Now I see...

If they give them these powers I will be down to BCA to buy a banger and not register it. Then I will be off out baiting the buggers just so I can kick their heads in. Cant think of anything better than smacking a civil servant in the mouth. We only need this to happen about 20 times and they will find some really good reason why they should leave this job to the cops.

Once they become 'partners' (hate that word) in the Scam partnerships, their very existance will probably depend upon them issuing speeding taxes.

Done some digging on this. I came across a firm who merge software.
So without all the preclude we have:

Gatso's that are linked to an office of callcentre style staff that issue tickets based on a computers say so.

Police that use computers then pull you over and give you a ticket.

Basically it seems the computer is being connected to the Gatso call centre's.
So, HA won't pull you over, but you will get a ticket in the post <14 days later.

It hasn't been implemented yet, but its "work in progress".
I can't reveal any sources sorry.

Sounds like there would need to be plenty of events for them to deal with to keep them busy.

Are HA targeted with any monitoring about how effective they are at keeping the roads moving?

If they are, how are they doing?

If not, why not?
