HADECS 3. Distance to capture?

Travelling on the M6 this afternoon, after plenty of 60mphs gantry’s I failed to notice one had turned to 50mph.
Looking back on the dash cam I went through at 59mph, there were no speed camera lines on the road for me to go from, so how far passed the camera will it go off?
All I can go from are the lane separation lines, by the time I went passed the 6th line I was at 51mph

If you can look at the camera footage frame-by-frame, you may just be able to see the flash (if it happened), otherwise I think it’s in the lap of the gods.

59mphin a 50? You should be locked up for life.
Does your footage show when it changed? I believe they give you a small grace period when it changes. I've read anywhere between 10 seconds and a minute but could be a old (new?) wives tale for all I know.
I've seen a fair few people flashed by these so I'm sure if it had flashed, you'd have noticed or the camera would've picked it up. I've got no idea if they can snap you without a flash though. Cross your fingers and pray to the speed camera gods for the next fortnight.

Is there a chance the 59 on the dashcam is more than actual speed as with most speedos? In my runabout 60 mph on the speedo is 55 on the Garmin....so perhaps you were doing 54-55? That might well be within the guidelines for issuing a ticket.
To be honest I am not sure how accurate a GPS unit is ( I presume the dashcam uses GPS?) but I think Garmin say within 1-2 mph.
But OK, you will still have the 14 day sweat now as yes, does sound like whatever way you look at it, you were over 50mph.

On the footage it was “50” for as long as I can make it out so it didn’t just change as I went under unfortunately.
My Speedo is 1 mph out.
Cruise set to 60mph
Tomtom 59mph
Dash cam 59mph
Obviously no one to blame other than myself, It was 60mph for ages, then this 50 then back to 60 at the following gantry, obviously to catch numpties like myself out, frustrating as I’ve basically worked the day for free if the fine comes through.
Another one was Monday, no restrictions so 70mph, then one suddenly changed to 40mph with a camera, followed by some dangerous braking ahead, wouldn’t mind but it was all for no obvious reason other than to cashgrab as it was back to 70 at the very next gantry,

The one I passed the other night (new yellow camera on new 'smart' section, M27) can't have been HADECS 3 then, as it flashed a lit up patrol car in L3Answer: There is no visible flash emitted by HADECS 3 speed cameras.
