Importing a car from Germany

Has anyone been through the process recently?

The plan would be to travel to Germany to collect the car and return with it on the back of my recovery truck. The car is 29 years old so just misses the 5% import duty.

I'm not sure what documents I potentially need to produce when boarding the ferry or Eurotunnel in France.

German owners document, I would expect as 'marked for export' and you need this to UK register the car anyway.
