As above, someone squeezed their car into a non - space between my car and another, on street parking.

I didn’t see it occur, but someone where I was did. Could not possibly fit a car in the space they did without touching. Theirs was covered in scuffs of different colours, and mine had an imprint of their grille in the dust my bumper, and a parking sensor is now inoperative/car indicating a fault.

There is also, at an extremely low angle, an almost imperceptible 8 inch crease in the plastic of my bumper. Otherwise nothing really visible.

I’m more annoyed at the attitude and the fact I always park it carefully with cretins in mind.

Anyway - they of course deny and no cctv etc. Although they believe there is cctv where I was visiting ...

Mine is an expensive car to fix properly - however I’m in two minds about getting ins co involved, really don’t want any hassle come renewal.

What have others done in similar situation? I have the parkers details

If they are denying it, there isn't really much you can do, other than go through your insurers, assuming the witness actually saw them hit your car, and not just saw them parking there.

If the perpetrator has accepted any liability and you don't want to go though your insurance company, obtain a couple of body shop repair quotes and provide the third party with the bill.

Thanks above. At the time a “representative” :eyeroll: of the driver made themselves known and I “explained” that there WAS cctv from where I was.... he made a phone call in another language and could make out “cctv he’s fked” haha. He then became very apologetic .

I think estimate and bill presentation time then?

You can try but I'd set my expectations low. I think the best you can expect is a derisory offer or a response of show me the footage. You are slightly up the creek if your cctv bluff is called.

+1

You’re not going to get what it’s going to cost to fix, let’s be realistic.

I'd say get an official estimate then ask them to pay 50-60% of it cash here and now. If they do, look around then for someone who can do the job cheaper, or get less done.

Or just pay the 40% yourself.

My point here is if you are dealing with dishonest/shady people but for now they are dithering, take what you can and be happy with it. The longer you allow them to think, the more they will feel they can go back to denying it all.

How much do you think it will cost to put right?
