Best Mobile Speed Camera App for 2022?
Discussion
Hi Guys
Ive been unfortuate in the last 12 months for getting 2 speeding tickets (36 in a 30, and 48 in a 40, which had been a 50 speed limit the week before!) - Yes I hold my hands up, but I want to keep an eye on things going forward.
Wanted to see whats recommened for the iPhone for mobile camera detection i.e where drivers log it on an App rather than radar detection. Is Waze still OK? ... not interested in the Sat Nav aspect of it though. Any other ones and info if Free or Paid etc?
Thanks for your help.

Waze is probably the best out there. However in the last month I’ve driven past 4 mobile speed cameras and vans and not one was showing in Waze.
These were all in a major city with plenty of traffic, so I’m not sure if users are logging them as much as they were.
Did you log them? These were all in a major city with plenty of traffic, so I’m not sure if users are logging them as much as they were.
I use Waze but find in cities it’s not as good. Motorways are better although sometimes a bit late to pop up. On my regular commute the mobiles are always in the same place anyway. Nice long straight bits of road. Traffic same thing seem to park in same places although touch wood every time I have been pulled it’s just been a stern telling off.

Indeed but are you suggesting Mark 1 iBalls can, from the best part of a mile away, differentiate a camera van from some other random van that just happens to be parked-up? Or spot a motorbike where the rider has set-up a camera on a tripod next to it but both are pretty well concealed from view until you're getting close to them? My Mark 1 iBalls can't do that even though they can - with the aid of my driving glasses supplied by Specsavers - read the bottom line on an eye chart. And that's why I use Waze....

I find Mark 1 eyeballs are better employed reading road signs and the speedo. And that's why I don't piss around with phone apps while I'm driving....My Mark 1 iBalls can't do that even though they can - with the aid of my driving glasses supplied by Specsavers - read the bottom line on an eye chart. Waze for real time updates plus Speedtrap Alert with the PocketGPSWorld database as Waze doesn't audibly alert if you're below the speed limit at the trigger point (e.g. variable speed limits cameras set to a lower limit).
