My partner for a ULEZ PCN through the door yesterday which is a surprise since we have never travelled to London and the car in question has been off the road on our drive for 2 month since she got a new car.
The photos they provided also look like the reg ends in a V where as hers ends in a Y, both reg numbers come back as the same make model and colour so maybe it was a misread? Anybody had this issue before and know how likely are they to actually revoke the fine?

If it wasn't her, it wasn't her. Fill in the details on the PCN and send it back. The photos they provided also look like the reg ends in a V where as hers ends in a Y, both reg numbers come back as the same make model and colour so maybe it was a misread? Details on the appeals process are here.

I assume if the car has been off the road for 2 months you can show it is SORN'd if they request it, or provide some other proof it wasn't in London on the day in question if they don't just accept your appeal outright?
You're overthinking this.
If the photos show a similar but different reg, then it is a simple case of a misread by the computer.
Point this out to TfL and they will correct their error.
If they still insist that it is your car, when you know it is not, then come back here for more advice. At the moment, there's no point in wasting any time on speculating on further action, when the misread problem is so easy to resolve.

^This^ although it does seem to be quite a coincidence that the misread plate comes back as an identical carIf the photos show a similar but different reg, then it is a simple case of a misread by the computer.
