Got an NIP on 29th June 89 MPH on the M1 near Leeds 70mph limit at the time of offence
I logged on and said I was the driver at the time. I did this on the same day I received the NIP.
I downloaded the picture of my car (have the camera location).
I got an acknowledgement to my email address at the time.
I am not looking to get out of this, will pay the fine and take the points but I have heard nothing since. Looked everywhere, cant find anything from police.
I binned the NIP as I didn’t think I needed it anymore. The response email has also gone likely months ago.
I really don’t want the next thing I hear to be a court summons.
What should I do next.

Do not just assume that this has gone away. Write to them (recorded post), and ask them what's happening.

Email the police prosecutor.

If you're 100% sure they haven't followed up on the NIP in writing I'd keep quiet. The Police are not that efficient and it may have been lost or not followed up, maybe they had sent out enough speeding tickets that month already, maybe a fault was later reported with the device that clocked you.....

I appreciate your honesty but I wouldn't remind the Police that they've forgotten to hand out a fine and points when it may well have gone away!

It'll have timed out, won't it? Which is obviously why the OP has waited until now to ask.

Would be worth logging on to the DVLA site and checking your licence status.

You have been sent a paper NIP/S172 notice

You have responded via a web-site so you have not provided a signed response to the S172 notice.

If this is England/Wales and you do nothing you are likely to be charged with failing to provide as an unsigned response is the same as no response.

I would be calling them and checking if they had everything they needed to avoid the hassle of undoing a FTP charge.

Correct.

Email police prosecutor to check court proceedings have not been commenced. If not then it’s now too late.

This is incorrect. West Yorkshire allows a s.172 response to be submitted via their public access portal.

Many years ago I got a NIP and responded.

Never heard a thing after that.
