Ist what it says in paper ;)

Because we all drive into sign posts on the motorway  - we are to get new ones.. Ist in today's "Express" paper on page two.

It seem these are bendy und if you crash into them - you do not do any damage to self ;) [small] If that ist case - we should have speed limit on motorway increased mit immediate effect then :hehe: [/small] These are glass fibre sign und honeycombed und Highways Agency claims that these signs with crumble on impact....It seems that of the 3500 KSI in 2003 (speed per se? eh?) - 1521 were injured running into these signs...

Ist a bit different to what they say we usually run into :paperbag: like [small] people [/small]

This is actually a very good idea, there are many motorways (like the Saddleworth M62) that have no armco on the hard shoulder.

Really though, they'd be much better off replacing the lamp posts with the collapsible ones demonstrated on Fifth Gear this year, that would save a lot of lives tbh.

These are cropping up in Leeds. The main ones I have seen are on the Wetherby Road Junction with Coal Road. The original "boxy" ones have been replaced by the new "bendy" ones on the traffice island.

They are a good idea..... I was on the A47 recently and there are now about six times more hard and unyielding metal posts to hit as there were.... Bloody lethal if you're on a bike
