In Scotland, I got a £100 parking charge.
No legal requirement to name driver in Scotland.
Told lease company not to pay it as they are only flying a kite.
Lease company mailed me saying they will pay it if they get an unpaid notice from parking company.
I told them not to and I would be in touch.
Anyone been in this position?
My plan was to not engage with the parking company, but feel the lease company are forcing my hand.
I have been down this road before and had a positive outcome but it was a different lease company.
I am unsure if the lease company can just disregard my specific instructions and then bill me.

Most lease companies have in their terms that they will pay and then charge you an admin fee on top.

I’m sure Scotland brought a new law in recently to force the registered keeper to pay it if they didn’t name the driver. Or maybe it’s just a draft.

Why do so many PHers keep failing foul to parking conditions?

Inform the leasing company, in writing, that you do not owe the parking company any money.

Suggest the leasing company tell the parking company the vehicle is leased - and any further correspondence is sent to you.

When writing such a letter, always bear in mind it could be used in a court case.

Thanks as always for the constructive advice, I am sure I heard something about a law change in Scotland , not sure if it's in effect yet.
Will see how it goes tomorrow!

I thought the same but another poster confirmed the law has been passed but not yet implemented as of about a month ago.

Reading is hard apparently. I don't understand it either, I've had 1 parking ticket my entire life and it was because I parked my motorbike on the pavement when the charing unit died and it wouldn't idle.

Don't understand why someone as self righteous as yourself would park your bike on the pavement and not on the road.

Most forum members will be happy to know charge officially cancelled, obviously there will be some self-righteous souls disappointed I got away with it.😃
You know who you are!!
One wee email pointing out the error of their ways and ticket cancelled.

Now send them an "invoice" for wasting your time.

If the charge had been legitimate it wouldn't have been cancelled, therefore it was a scam.
