David lloyd membership fee increase
Discussion
Looking for some guidance and suggestions
So David Lloyds Clubs have decided to increase my membership fees from 149 to 164, six months into a 12 month contract.
Apparently they have sent out emails to all members regarding the increase.
For one, I didnt receive that email, but importantly can they unilaterally increase the fees midway through a 12 month contract?
Has anyone else had a similar increase? Is there anyway i can fight it ? or just suck it up
thanks

Only had a quick look but under either article 15 or 18 of their contract they appear to be able to increase fees a la phone providers.
They offer you the right to cancel if not happy and say they will try to give you a months notice of the increase.
As with phone providers I imagine worth a call to see if they are prepared to negotiate.

A colleague, who likes to let everyone know, how much he spends on things, is a David Lloyd member, all he does is moan about it; A/C not working, equipment is tired, pool is cold, school holidays are full of unruly kids etc etc, haven't a clue why he's still a member.... oh yes I do, it's something to boast about!

My DL monthly fee has just gone up to £225.25pcm. No racket sports in that.
Which is too much.
What on earth are they providing that justifies that sort of fee?Which is too much.

I should add, I met me wife at a David Lloyd circa 28 years ago.
Still working out if I’m thankful or not

Blimey that is expensive - works out at £5 a day for a year. My gym is £23 a month or 76p a day!
Yes but it isn't David Lloyd!!My David Lloyd membership (all including the tennis and squash) went up from £58/month to £63.
Still a decent whack of an increase in percentage terms but surprisingly good value for the facilities.
